Dancing in the Rain

In this mixed media contemplative workshop, we will spend time looking at life’s storms and God’s presence with us in those storms, embracing a child-like faith and finding joy and faith during hardships. Using scripture, journaling, and thought-provoking questions, we will personalize these topics and attempt to hear from God during our time together and in solitude. We will make a mixed media canvas depicting us dancing in the rain under a colorful umbrella, reflecting on the saying “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning how to dance in the rain. As we make our canvas, we will once again notice what God is saying to us.

He Restores My Soul “Shuffle”

Pinterest has an app that creates layered collages with cut-out images called Shuffles. In this brand-new workshop, we are going to create our own “Shuffle” by designing a collage contrasting bright flowers and black and white images. (See the example). Based on Psalms 23:3; “He restores my soul” we will use contemplative exercises to ponder what might restore our own soul.

Private Group Workshops are available. With a group of 5 or more, the hostess attends for free. The classes are usually 2 hours long and cost $35/attendee but may be customized for the group. Workshops consist of contemplative practices and an “art” component. Contact me at youthbear@gmail.com if interested in hosting your own workshop. Many topics/themes are available.
